Alicante proclaimed Leire Arellano Ruiz as Bellea del Foc Infantil 2026 this Friday during an event held at the Teatro Principal.

Mayor Luis Barcala presented the accreditation sash to the new Bellea del Foc Infantil, while the La Paz Musical Society, from Sant Joan, conducted by Celia Torá, premiered the musical fantasy ‘Proclamació del Foc’, by Miguel Ángel Mataix.
Mayor Luis Barcala emphasized that the image of the festival's renewal was reflected in the faces of the new Bellea del Foc Infantil and her Maids of Honor, who from this afternoon onwards assume the responsibility of representing Alicante.
Prior to Arellano, Estrella del Mar Peláez García (Calvo Sotelo), Irene Straub González (Foguerer-Carolinas), Lucía Colilla González (Explanada), Martina Albaladejo Quero (Virgen del Remedio-La Cruz), Nerea Navarro Cardoso (Avenida Costablanca-Entreplayas), and Alba Illana Mas (Carolines Baixes) took the stage. The music band performed various compositions, including the ‘Himno de Hogueras’.
Leire Arellano Ruiz arrived on stage escorted by six officers of the Local Police in Grand Gala uniform, before the mayor presented her with the sash, in the presence of the president of the Federació de Fogueres, David Olivares.
Arellano Ruiz, the first Bellea del Foc Infantil from Plaza del Mediterráneo, wore a specially designed brocade fabric, featuring 6,210 kilos of warp, 46 weft colors, and three metals. Her Maids of Honor wore skirts made of natural silk with the ‘Eternity’ design.
The Maid of Honor for Bellea del Foc 2025, María José Sáez, served as the presenter, describing the proclaimed girls as «seven hearts beating in unison and feeling the city from their bonfires».
Sáez highlighted Leire Arellano's «joy and enjoyment», Irene Straub's «enthusiasm», Alba Illana's «kindness», Nerea Navarro's «happiness and bravery», Lucía Colilla's «fun character», Martina Albaladejo's «empathy», and Estrella del Mar Peláez's «pure nerve and spontaneity».
The event was hosted by Nerea Núñez Hidalgo (Barri Sant Agustí), Nicolás Saiz Lucas (Benalúa), and Daniel Navarro Ruiz (Explanada).
