The unions STEPV, CSIF, CCOO, and UGT have reported a 75% turnout on the second day of the indefinite strike by non-university public education teachers, demanding an immediate convocation of the Sectoral Table.

The convening organizations maintain that the strike continues to have very high support and insist on the need for the Ministry of Education to call a meeting to address their demands. So far, they have not received any official summons to resume negotiations.

"We are willing to dialogue, but we warn that we will not call off the mobilizations until the Generalitat presents a satisfactory offer or one with real room for negotiation."

The list of demands includes reducing student-teacher ratios and bureaucracy, improving infrastructure and climate control, increasing staff, dignifying education in Valencian, and recovering teachers' salaries.
The calendar of mobilizations will continue this Wednesday with concentrations at 12:00 in front of the Palau de la Generalitat, in València, and the delegations of the Valencian Government in Alicante and Castellón. In Alicante, the protest will be held in front of the Casa de les Bruixes.
For Thursday, May 14, the unions have called new concentrations in front of the Ministry of Education and the territorial directorates of Alicante and Castellón, also at 12:00. On Friday, May 15, a large unitary demonstration will take place in València, starting from Plaza de San Agustín.
The unions consider the salary proposal put forward by Education insufficient, as it contemplates a progressive increase of 75 gross euros per month over three years starting in 2027. According to the organizations, the strike expresses accumulated discontent due to the teachers' workload and emotional burden.
