The University of Alicante has held its entrance exams for individuals over 25 and 45, corresponding to the 2026 call, a crucial pathway for adults wishing to pursue degree studies without prior qualifications.

These exams took place over two sessions, on April 25 and May 9, simultaneously across public universities in the Valencian Community. Applicants over 45 years old only completed the first session, while those over 25 participated in both days.
For the over 25s category, 230 admitted students were called, with an 85.5% participation rate. This procedure is aimed at individuals without academic qualifications who are or will be 25 years old during the year of the exam. It includes a general phase with text commentary, Spanish language, foreign language, and Valencian exercises, plus a specific phase linked to the chosen field of knowledge.
Regarding the exams for over 45s, 81.8% of the 24 admitted applicants participated. This route is designed for individuals who lack qualifying degrees or cannot demonstrate professional experience related to the university studies requested.
The University of Alicante reserves 3% of places for access via the over 25s route, and 1% each for over 40s and 45s, with quotas accumulable between these modalities. The procedure for over 40s, which credits work or professional experience, includes a merit assessment and a personal interview, scheduled for May 20.
The definitive results for the over 25s and 45s exams will be published in the coming weeks, while resolutions for over 40s access will be available on May 29.
