The gastronomic festival La Nucía Gastro Weekend 2026 concluded yesterday with the “Day of Stars and Suns” at the CEM Captivador. This day featured a grand tasting menu prepared by seven chefs who collectively hold nine Michelin Stars and thirteen Repsol Suns. One hundred people enjoyed this culinary experience, for which all tickets were sold out.
It was a unique opportunity to taste “exquisite dishes” in a single menu from seven brilliant restaurants, national benchmarks: El Xato, Arrels, Origen, Riff, Maralba, Beat, and L’Escaleta. The menu service was directed by one of the chefs from El Xato restaurant, and it marked the third day of the Gastro Weekend.
The “Day of Stars and Suns” opened its doors past noon, offering the one hundred attendees a welcome in the outdoor area of the CEM Captivador with a variety of snacks. Afterwards, the table menu service began, designed collaboratively and based on local products, with the personal touch contributed by each of the seven chefs.
Among the highlighted dishes, guests could enjoy a Manchego mojete with herbs and tomato ice cream, cuttlefish with crystal caviar and koji, shrimp with quail escabeche and seasonal vegetables, and a parpatana with vegetable sauce and red pepper. The final dishes included sea bass with iodized sauce and vanilla cauliflower cream, a sirloin from Polop with fermented blood orange demi-glace, and a brioche spirit with chilled vegetable cream as dessert.
All dishes were paired with wines from the Valencian Community, selected by a gastronomic ambassador of La Nucía and head waiter of a local restaurant. At the end of the service, the chefs received a standing ovation from the diners and a small token as a souvenir of this special gastronomic event.
