The regional department has opted for a management profile with technical experience to take over the leadership of the entity. This new head has not held public office before, according to sources consulted. The decision will be formalized in the coming hours, once the necessary administrative procedures are completed.
The SPTD is responsible for managing the Ciudad de la Luz film studios in Alicante. Currently, the complex is experiencing a recovery in activity thanks to agreements with international production companies, such as the ten-year deal with Good Films or the filming of the Disney production of Tangled.
In addition to the film sector, the new director will take over the management of the Terra Mítica land, the promotion of the future cultural center in Benidorm, and the management of Distrito Digital. They will also coordinate the organization of the inaugural stage of the Ocean Race scheduled for 2027, an event for which talks have already begun to extend the link with the city.
