Energy company Iberdrola and telecommunications operator Vodafone have announced a commercial alliance to jointly market electricity and telecommunications services, offering cross-discounts to their customers.

The agreement will allow customers of both companies to benefit from rebates of 10 euros per month for two years on both electricity bills and those for telephony, fiber optics, and television. This collaboration aims to shake up the market and attract new users through joint offers.
Customers of Vodafone Spain who contract electricity with Iberdrola will receive a monthly discount of 10 euros on their telecommunications package for the established period. For their part, Iberdrola customers who contract fiber and mobile services with Vodafone will receive the same amount as a credit in the energy company's loyalty program, which they can use on their electricity bill or other services offered by the company.
Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola Spain, emphasized that the alliance aims to offer a tangible benefit to millions of households, combining emission-free energy with the best connection at a competitive price. José Miguel García, CEO of Vodafone Spain, anticipated that this is a first step towards future collaborations with new joint value propositions.
With this union, both major companies seek to consolidate their market position and improve their offerings for the more than 16 million customers they collectively have in Spain, anticipating possible expansions of the agreement in the near future.
