“"I don't know if it will be the best in the world. But I know that its summit, its touch, its breath, permeates our life with the softness of precious oil and the strength of old wine. We would not exchange it for the most abundant. Our land through which we learn to feel and interpret the landscape in its nakedness and even in its living flesh: land of blue peaks and pale peaks like foreheads; land as dark as our bread, and there is no bread like home-made bread."

The Councilor for Parks and Gardens of Alicante, Rafael Alemañ, today highlighted the artistic connection between painter Emilio Varela, musician Óscar Esplá, and writer Gabriel Miró during the annual homage to Miró.
The event, presided over by Ana Belén Gómez López, recreated an imaginary conversation between the three creators around the plaza named after Miró, which Alemañ defined as “one of the best examples of monumental urban tree-lined streets in the Valencian Community”.
During his speech, the councilor evoked how Varela found inspiration in the plaza's light and colors for his works, Esplá turned those sensations into music, and Miró captured them in his notebook. This image served to underscore the artistic bond between these three Alicantinian cultural figures.
Alemañ related Miró's description to Varela's painting and Esplá's music, whose 50th anniversary of death is commemorated this year. The event was attended by festival representatives and local authorities.
