The Flower Offering to Mare de Déu del Remei, a central event of Alicante's Fogueres, begins today with the first of two scheduled days, gathering thousands of participants.

Alicante began this afternoon the first of two days of the Flower Offering to Mare de Déu del Remei, one of the most anticipated and massive events of the Fogueres. For hours, thousands of festival-goers and bargueñeros will parade through the city streets to pay homage to the patron saint and create the traditional floral tapestry.
The first day will conclude with the arrival of the child beauty of fire of Alicante, Leire Arellano, and her maids of honor. Tomorrow, Monday, it will be the turn of the beauty of fire, María Pastor, and her court of honor, who will close the most devotional act of the main Alicante festival week.
Dressed in traditional attire and amidst applause and emotion, participants will star in one of the most emblematic scenes of the Fogueres, combining devotion, tradition, and festive spirit.

À Punt will offer special coverage of the Offering.

The broadcast of the first day will begin at 18:15 on television and can be followed from start to finish via streaming on the web. Due to the overlap with the bullfight of the Fogueres Fair, the television broadcast will resume on delay from 22:30. The second day will be broadcast live tomorrow from 18:00.
