This Thursday, the Ministry of Housing reported that, after receiving two citizen complaints, preliminary inspection actions were initiated. These actions included requesting information from the company to clarify the commercialization of properties and the alleged request for advance payments.
Furthermore, the immediate cessation of the commercialization of the promotion was requested until the provisional qualification of public protection housing was obtained and the mandatory authorization to receive advance payments, as indicated in Decree 180/2024.
With the information collected, the Territorial Housing Service has determined that there are indications of a very serious infringement, typified in Law 8/2004 on Housing of the Valencian Community. For this reason, procedures have been initiated to open the corresponding sanctioning file.
The Sant Joan d'Alacant City Council had already warned at the end of February of a possible irregular commercialization by the developer of this future VPP promotion. This promotion is projected on municipal land in the Nou Nazareth area, on a plot tendered by the council in 2025.
According to the alerts, the developer, through a real estate agency in the city of Alicante, had allegedly been requesting 1,750 euros from individuals who wanted to make a prior reservation for these properties, which are not yet built.
