Foro Alia has concluded its sixth edition, held in Alicante and Valencia under the theme "From Models to Solutions." The event, organized by the Alicante Digital Intelligence Center (CENID) and sponsored by Lynx View, has established itself as a pragmatic example of knowledge transfer, with the collaboration of CEV Alicante and the newspapers Información, Mediterráneo, and Levante-EMV.
Manuel Palomar, director of CENID, emphasized that the initiative has surpassed its function as a mere meeting point, becoming a vehicle for developing proposals and showcasing knowledge transfer processes. Palomar highlighted the "high quality" of the presented research and the collaboration with technology consultancies to create use cases, maintaining the project's aim to connect the innovative ecosystem with the productive fabric, focusing on the real application of artificial intelligence models.
David Ivorra, CEO of Lynx View, agreed on the importance of collaboration with CENID and the University of Alicante, noting a "shared vision of technology" and advocating for an "artificial intelligence developed with purpose" to help people. Ivorra confirmed the existence of talent and real solutions within the existing ecosystem.
For his part, José Vicente Andreu, vice president of CEV Alicante, pointed out that the forum's value lies in moving from discussing models to discussing solutions, mitigating the "noise" around AI with pragmatic examples. Andreu stressed that artificial intelligence is ceasing to be a technology exclusive to large companies and is becoming an opportunity for SMEs.
Andreu added that the Valencian Community is showing great dynamism in adopting this technology, surpassing both national and European averages. Currently, over 20% of companies with more than 10 employees use AI daily, a figure that has practically doubled compared to the previous year. Furthermore, nearly 40% of Spanish companies plan to increase their investment in AI in the coming years.
However, the vice president of the employers' association emphasized the need for talent, trust, and investment, as well as collaboration between universities, research centers, public administrations, and companies to support this technological transformation and ensure no one is left behind, thereby strengthening the Alicante ecosystem.
