Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has awarded a contract exceeding 12.7 million euros for the maintenance of access systems and ticket vending machines across the Metrovalencia and TRAM d'Alacant networks.

This contract, initially valid for four years with a possible extension, is divided into three lots. Its primary objective is to ensure the preventive and corrective maintenance of the toll system across FGV's various lines.
Lot 1, allocated to TRAM d'Alacant, is valued at 2,968,130 euros and includes the maintenance of automatic vending machines, ticket offices, flap gates, and validators located at halts, stations, technical rooms, and El Campello workshops, as well as equipment on board mobile units.
Lots 2 and 3 pertain to the Metrovalencia network. Lot 2, costing 7,574,600 euros, covers equipment using INDRA technology, while Lot 3, with a budget of 2,257,260 euros, focuses on equipment from SICE technology. In total, FGV has 1,778 pieces of equipment included in this contract, with 387 in the TRAM d'Alacant network and 1,391 in Metrovalencia.
In parallel with these maintenance tasks, FGV is modernizing its equipment through the 2026-2030 Action Plan, which involves an investment of over 830 million euros. This plan aims to improve stations, customer service, overall service quality, renew older infrastructure and facilities, and incorporate new rolling stock.
Recently, the installation of new readers has been completed. Once the toll software is adapted, these will allow validation with bank cards, QR codes, and mobile electronic devices. Furthermore, new access gates have been installed at Colón and Paiporta stations in Metrovalencia to improve user passage conditions, with special attention to People with Reduced Mobility (PRM). Accessibility conditions for self-service ticket machines have also been enhanced, with the integration of 188 units featuring a video intercom and an inductive loop device.
