The award, announced by the festival organizers, highlights the career of Martínez, 51, which includes appearances in iconic feature films such as Tesis by Alejandro Amenábar, for which he won the Goya Award for Best New Actor in 1996. He has also collaborated with renowned directors like Julio Medem in Los amantes del círculo polar and Pedro Almodóvar in La mala educación.
In television, Fele Martínez has excelled in successful series such as Estoy vivo, La unidad, and the popular Machos Alfa, a new season of which is set to premiere this April.
“"Fele Martínez very well represents what we are as a festival: a solid, coherent, and deeply connected trajectory to cinema."
Beatriz Hernández, director of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, emphasized that Martínez's presence at the festival has not been sporadic; he has participated in several editions with significant works, both as an actor and a director. For Hernández, the fact that the 2026 award recipient is from Alicante is particularly meaningful, as it allows for the recognition of a local professional with such a distinguished career in the audiovisual sector, coinciding with the festival's tenth anniversary.
With this recognition, Fele Martínez joins a list of Skyliner Award winners that includes figures such as María Esteve, Miguel Rellán, and Cayetana Guillén Cuervo. This award aims to connect the careers of film personalities with the values of the festival, which will take place from April 18 to 25.
