The second participatory milestone of Alicante's Structural General Plan (PGE) concluded this week, incorporating input from over 800 citizens and 41 specialists in various fields.
This process has allowed for the enrichment of the draft of the most important urban planning document for Alicante in the last 39 years. Contributions came from urban planning, economics, architecture specialists, officials from the Generalitat Valenciana, and a broad representation of the city's economic, social, and neighborhood fabric.
“
"More than 800 Alicante residents attended the thematic tables on green infrastructure, mobility, facilities and services, urban regeneration, housing, and economic development, which also included two specific debates on rural areas and the Port-city relationship."
The Urban Planning Councilor highlighted the successful turnout, which demonstrates the interest and enthusiasm generated by this fundamental project for Alicante's economic and social development. He also thanked the experts, professionals, and members of various business and social groups for their willingness, which allowed for the creation of tables with a high level of competence and plurality.
The participants' contributions will be compiled into a conclusions document that will be incorporated into the draft of the Structural General Plan. All thematic dossiers with strategies on green infrastructure, mobility, facilities and services, urban regeneration, housing, and economic development are available on the project's official website.

"Alicante, a plan with you is more than a motto. We said it from the beginning, we want the General Plan to be everyone's plan and for everyone, and we are demonstrating it with actions, beyond words."
The tables included six representatives from the regional administration linked to each of the debated topics. Their presence is significant, as it allowed them to gain first-hand knowledge of the document that the Generalitat will have to submit for environmental evaluation after its approval by the Governing Board.
