The MARQ in Alicante has opened its doors to an international exhibition on the indigenous knowledge of Colombia, a proposal that combines archaeology and anthropology until May 2027.

The exhibition, titled El oro y el universo. Saberes indígenas de Colombia, brings together a total of 291 objects, including 157 gold pieces from the Gold Museum of Bogotá. The exhibition seeks to offer a renewed vision of gold, understanding it not as a symbol of accumulation, but as a fundamental element in reciprocity and the connection between human beings, nature, and the spiritual world.
The tour is divided into three thematic blocks located in the museum's temporary halls. The first space, 'We are all universe', recreates a maloca as a sacred space; the second, 'Transformations', explores pre-Hispanic hydraulic engineering; and the third, 'Caring for the world', delves into the meaning of the offering. The visit is completed with a soundscape that includes ancestral melodies and sounds of nature.
Among the exhibited pieces are masks, pectorals, and figures of plants and animals, some of which are up to 3,500 years old. In addition to the archaeological remains, the exhibition incorporates contemporary indigenous creations, establishing a dialogue between the past and the present.
