The Lo Morant park is preparing to host the 'Fogueres de Sant Joan' 2026 Rice Contest on May 31st, an event expected to bring together over 7,000 people for a day of community.

The Federació de les Fogueres de Sant Joan is organizing this event, one of the most crowded pre-festival activities in Alicante. The Federation's president, David Olivares, has called for participant responsibility to ensure everyone enjoys the day, which will bring together bonfire and barraca commissions.
Alongside the bellea del foc, María Pastor, and her maids of honor, Olivares recalled the traditional parade that will begin at 12:00 PM to visit all participating commissions.
Participating associations will receive the necessary ingredients to prepare the rice dishes. The Federation's president thanked the sponsoring companies, including Mahou, Makro, El Corte Inglés, Carmencita, Zumit, Coca-Cola, Anís Tenís, and Baycar Rent, as well as sponsors Grupo El Sorell and Grupo Marcos, for their support of this community day.
