The Government delegate in the Valencian Community has confirmed full coordination between the central Executive and the Generalitat regarding a possible hantavirus case detected in a woman at an Alicante hospital.

The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, in statements made in Paiporta, emphasized the permanent communication between both administrations. She highlighted that the Minister of Health has spoken with the president of the Generalitat and the health minister to address the situation.

"The work is outlined, and coordination is total between the autonomous communities and the Government of Spain."

The Ministry of Health, along with the autonomous communities, has approved an action protocol that will be applied in this case. The 32-year-old woman presents symptoms compatible with hantavirus after a flight with a passenger from a cruise ship who later died.
The first step will be to conduct tests to determine if there is contagion. If positive, the patient would be treated in a High-Level Isolation and Treatment Unit (UATAN) within the Valencian health system. If the tests are negative twice, she would be transferred to the Gómez Ulla Central Defense Hospital in Madrid to complete quarantine.
The Government delegate reiterated her willingness to collaborate on all matters that the Valencian Generalitat, in health matters, deems necessary.
