Casa 47 will launch in the coming months a public call to offer 485 affordable homes in the Valencia Region, of which 157 will be located in the province of Alicante, specifically in the municipalities of Dénia, Elche, Monóvar, Novelda, Orihuela, and Pedreguer. The initiative is part of the state's affordable housing stock and aims to expand residential supply at accessible prices.
The announcement was made this Thursday in Alcoy during the meeting ‘Dialogue for Housing: from commitment to execution’, which was attended by the president of Casa 47, Leire Iglesias; the Director General of Housing and Land of the Government of Spain, Inés Sandoval; the Government's sub-delegate in Alicante, Manuel Pineda; and the mayor of Alcoy, Antonio Francés.
As explained by Iglesias, the distribution of homes in Alicante will represent “a significant boost to affordable housing in the province”.
The public entity also announced the development of a new residential project in Alcoy following the acquisition of three plots in the area known as ‘Colonia de Aviación’, belonging to INVIED, where up to 170 affordable homes are planned.
The president of Casa 47 noted that, after formalizing the public deed, demolition work on disused buildings will begin. In parallel, tenders will be issued for the urbanization works necessary to renovate the environment and adapt the urban services of the affected area. Iglesias highlighted that “concentrating the entire housing cycle within a public company like Casa 47 allows us to overlap timelines”.
During the meeting, the call for the acquisition of municipal plots to promote housing in municipalities affected totally or partially by the DANA was also discussed, an initiative with a budget of 22.8 million euros. In this regard, Leire Iglesias announced that Casa 47 will relax some of the call's conditions to facilitate the development of new residential projects and promote the recovery of affected towns.
