Although the project for the 2026 Hogueras has not yet been unveiled to the public, the commission has decided to maintain confidence in its creators. The announcement was made this Sunday via social media, confirming that the artists will continue for another year with the "antigons".
The decision to renew so early, even before the 2026 festivities, demonstrates the commission's satisfaction with the work of Torres and Foix. This is not the first time they have made an early renewal; last year, after winning first prize in the adult category with Vanity, they strengthened their commitment with Paco Torres.

Fernando Foix has built a distinguished career in the children's top category, achieving first prize consecutively in 2023 with the emotional work Ara més que mai and in 2024 with El secret de les flames. Additionally, he won the Ninot Indultat in 2022 with the same commission. For his part, Paco Torres won first prize in the Especial category in 2025 with the Vanity monument, also securing fourth and third places in 2023 and 2024, respectively, and an adult Ninot Indultat in 2024.
The Especial category of the Hogueras de Alicante could increase from ten commissions in 2025 to thirteen (or twelve) in 2026. Following the inclusion of Calvo Sotelo and Explanada, twelve hogueras will be planted in the main section of the festival. However, the participation of the Alfonso el Sabio hoguera in the section is uncertain for 2026, due to a lack of space to meet safety requirements at its usual location.
