Alicante is launching a special free bus service to help visitors see the Special Hogueras during the Fogueres de Sant Joan festivities, from June 21st to 24th.

The city of Alicante has introduced a special free bus service for those wishing to visit the Special Hogueras during the Fogueres de Sant Joan festivities. This service will be operational from Sunday, June 21st, to Wednesday, June 24th, with extended hours from 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM and a frequency of 15 minutes.
The Councilor for Urban Mobility, Carlos de Juan, has recommended that residents and visitors leave their private cars at home and use public transport. He highlighted the importance of utilizing not only this special line but also the night bus routes and the continuous Tram service, as well as the circular route designed to cover the main neighborhoods with monuments and the city center.
During these four days, both residents and visitors can tour the fire festival's points of interest for free with a 15-minute frequency. Carlos de Juan, along with Vectalia's Mobility Director, Ángel Hernández, and Vectalia MIA's manager, Juan Antonio Martí, presented the launch of this special line.
The councilor emphasized that it is time to enjoy the hogueras, walk through the streets, admire the monuments, visit 'racós' and 'barracas', and attend the 'mascletà' and parades, recommending public transport as the easiest, fastest, most economical, and safest way to get around. For those who need to use private vehicles, it is suggested to drive on the ring roads like Gran Vía and Vía Parque, and use the park-and-ride and urban parking facilities to then move on foot or by public transport, given the traffic restrictions in numerous streets due to the presence of monuments and 'barracas'.
The special Hogueras line, which will operate circularly, will connect the closest points to all category special hogueras. The route includes strategic stops such as Maisonnave – Calvo Sotelo, Estación – Maisonnave, Oscar Esplá - Foglietti, Elche – F. Mayo, México – Caja Ahorros, La Viña - Orión, Isla de Corfú, Colegio Altozano, Gran Vía - Novelda, Gran Vía – Benisaudet, Hospital – Alonso, Alonso - Devesa, Plaza de Toros, Jijona - Adoratrices, Padre Esplá – Vidal, C.A. Montemar, Bulevar del Pla (TRAM), La Goteta, Raval Roig, Postiguet - Pasarela, Puerta del Mar (Official Town Hall Hoguera, Port of Alicante, and Explanada), and Dr. Ramón y Cajal.
Additionally, all urban and interurban night lines will be operational from 11:00 PM on June 19th until 7:00 AM on June 25th, with varying frequencies to cover different areas such as Alicante-Urbanova, Alicante-Villafranqueza, Alicante-El Campello, Alicante-Playa de San Juan, Alicante-San Juan-Mutxamel, and Alicante-San Vicente.
