The US group Associa has acquired 80% of the capital of the Alicante-based company Mediterráneo Global Services, in a deal where Corpfin Capital sold its stake. Associa thus becomes the reference shareholder, while the remaining 20% of the capital will continue to be held by its president and CEO, Carlos Felipe.
This alliance follows three years of transformation for Mediterráneo Global Services, which has grown from managing 4,000 communities to 10,000 and has tripled its operating profit, with a team of 500 professionals. The company highlights that the agreement will provide access to the best operational and technological practices of a global leader, while maintaining its culture and management independence.
Carlos Felipe thanked Corpfin Capital for their support during this transformation period and emphasized that Associa's incorporation is a natural step. For his part, José Maldonado, president of Associa Capital, noted that the expansion into Spain represents a significant step in the group's international strategy and its entry into Europe.
John J. Carona, president and CEO of Associa, highlighted the group's commitment to continuing to seek growth opportunities that strengthen its global presence. Mediterráneo Global Services will retain its identity, brand, headquarters in Alicante, and its current management team.
