The city of Alicante will host the VIII Solidarity Sea Day on June 6, an event expected to gather over 300 athletes with disabilities and attract more than 1,500 attendees.

This initiative, consolidating as one of the most significant adapted sports events in the marine environment in Spain, will be held at the Club Náutico Costa Blanca. Its main goal is to enhance access for people with disabilities to sports and the marine environment under equal conditions, removing barriers and facilitating real and effective participation.
The organization has prepared 10 adapted disciplines that will allow participants to engage in activities both in the water and on the sand. Proposals include dinghy sailing, diving, and paddle surfing, alongside other adapted land-based sports such as karate and inclusive rugby. The core philosophy is to adapt the environment to each person's needs, making sports practice possible on equal terms.

"Our mission goes beyond sports; we work to ensure that inclusion ceases to be an aspiration and becomes a tangible reality. Seeing a person with reduced mobility ride the waves or dive into the Mediterranean is proof that, with the right support, there are no limits."

The day, which starts at 10:00 AM and concludes at 2:00 PM with a giant communal paella, is made possible by the collaboration of hundreds of volunteers and the support of sponsors and the Alicante City Council itself. The entity highlights that La Mar Solidaria has evolved from a one-off event into an association with year-round activity, supporting families and boosting participants' self-esteem.
