The Alicante short film Pordentro, directed by Álvaro G. Company and Mario Hernández, has begun its festival journey with remarkable success, being selected in 100% of the competitions it has entered.

This dramatic fiction work, with a strong social character, had a successful debut at the Medina del Campo Film Week, a qualifying event for the Goya Awards. There, it won an award and two notable mentions, consolidating its projection in the national cinematic landscape.
The short film stands out for a powerful interpretive duel starring actor Ramón Barea, who takes on the challenge of bringing to life Elías, a 75-year-old man who, after decades of silence, decides to fulfill a promise and show himself to the world as the woman he always knew he was, Elia. Alongside him, actress Lorena López plays his daughter Rafaela, whose relationship with her father is shaken by a true emotional tsunami.

The narrative delves into a reality rarely represented in audiovisual media: gender identity in old age. Through an intimate and emotionally intense gaze, the story explores the scars of a generation that grew up under repression and, for decades, had to hide their true selves for fear of family rejection or imprisonment.

Behind Pordentro are two prominent names in the audiovisual scene. On one hand, Álvaro G. Company, director, screenwriter, and editor with over 500 selections and more than 150 awards at festivals. On the other hand, Mario Hernández, filmmaker and playwright with a solid career in both film and theater, whose work has been recognized in national and international competitions.
The project originates from a consolidated industrial fabric in the province of Alicante, being a co-production of the Alicante firms Grupoidex and Aliwood, together with Publicis Rebellion. Additionally, it has the participation of the Institut Valencià de Cultura and À Punt, demonstrating the region's capacity to generate stories with social impact and international projection.
