Alicante awards the best commercial shop windows for the 2026 Fogueres de Sant Joan

The city council distributes 15,000 euros in prizes to boost local commerce during the official festivities.

The city of Alicante has begun the countdown to the Fogueres de Sant Joan 2026 festivities with more than thirty establishments participating in the traditional shop window contest.

The competition, promoted by the Department of Commerce, Hospitality, Consumption and Markets of the Alicante City Council, aims to boost the commercial fabric and fill the streets with a festive atmosphere. In total, 15,000 euros will be distributed among the twelve establishments that best represent the tradition and aesthetics of the festivities.
The jury will visit the participating shops on June 17. To select the winners, special attention will be paid to originality, creativity in product display, aesthetic quality, and the integration of elements related to the commercial activity in the festive decoration.

The prizes are divided into a first prize of 3,000 euros, a second of 2,000 euros, and ten third prizes of 1,000 euros each. With this initiative, the council seeks to recognize the effort of local merchants and encourage shopping during the festive days, attracting both residents and the thousands of tourists who visit Alicante.
