The Alicante City Council has taken a decisive step for the development of PAU 5 sector 2, in Playa de San Juan, with the approval of the urbanization project that will allow the construction of 475 new homes.

The project, which has overcome an administrative process of over 20 years, plans for the creation of 475 new homes, of which 30% will be public housing. These will be added to the 234 existing homes, bringing the total in the sector to 709. Additionally, the area will feature new green spaces and sports facilities.
The total area of the sector covers 114,096 square meters, located between El Campello, Costa Blanca avenue, Playa de San Juan, and PAU 5 sector 1. The developer PAU 5 S2 S. L. will be responsible for developing this sector, with urbanization costs estimated at 5,188,774 euros plus VAT.
Of this area, 16,807 square meters will be allocated to green spaces along the railway line. Another 12,135 square meters will be for public facilities, including 8,074 square meters for sports and recreational infrastructure, and 890 square meters for administrative facilities. A new recreational area of 3,171 square meters will be created where a provisional pedestrian crossing currently exists.
The construction of new roads will lead to the creation of over 360 additional parking spaces.

"With the approval of the urbanization project for the second sector of PAU 5, we are speeding up the construction of 475 homes in the north of Playa de San Juan, 30% of them protected, and we are advancing in streamlining urban development projects and in our commitment to promote more than 6,000 homes in developments included in the current General Plan but which, for various reasons, became stalled."

Toño Peral · Urban Planning Councilor
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Toño Peral, highlighted that the project's approval accelerates the construction of protected housing and promotes stalled urban development projects, such as those in the neighborhoods of Lomas de Garbinet, Nueva Albufereta, Parque Central, and PAU 3.
