The Alicante City Council, through the signing of two agreements between the mayor, Luis Barcala, and the general director of IFA, Alejandro Morant, has formalized the trade fair institution's entry into the municipal innovation strategy. This alliance aims to leverage IFA's role as a hub for economic activity and business networking to enhance Alicante's profile and strengthen the Alicante-Elche corridor.
Recognized as an “Alicante Futura Committed Partner”, IFA integrates into a collaborative network focused on innovation, sustainability, economic development, and talent attraction. Its participation will be channeled through initiatives such as Alicante Futura Lab (talent acquisition), Alicante Futura Sandbox (innovation project development), and Alicante Futura Summit (networking and dissemination events), as well as through Alia's activities and collaborator networks.
Furthermore, the agreement with Impulsalicante seeks to utilize IFA's trade fair activities to boost employment and economic development. Prospectors from Impulsalicante are expected to attend trade shows to identify job openings, both from the trade fair institution itself and participating companies, which will subsequently be added to the Employment Portal.
Additionally, the agreements will provide access to spaces and resources under advantageous terms for organizing events related to economic promotion. The ultimate goal is to create a collaborative network among the City Council, Impulsalicante, Alicante Futura, and IFA, leveraging the trade fair institution's capacity to attract business activity and project Alicante's image nationally and internationally.
Alicante Futura already boasts over 70 affiliated entities, including the CEV (Valencian Business Confederation), the Port Authority of Alicante, Banco Sabadell, Ineca, Jovempa (Young Entrepreneurs Association), and the Alicante Film Festival, thereby consolidating an innovation ecosystem in the city.
