“"In addition to modernizing the underground car park, the renovation of the square will also be undertaken, acting on elements such as the skylight, the pergola or the fountain, in this case, to eliminate leaks in the installation. In addition, a children's play area and new paving will be incorporated, which will improve the connection with the facade of the Ministry of Finance delegation building and the Nuestra Señora de Gracia parish."

The Alicante City Council is taking a decisive step towards the remodeling of the car park and Muntanyeta square, with the approval of the preliminary project for its renovation and new concession.
The municipal government, from the Popular Party, plans to approve this Tuesday, at the weekly meeting of the Local Board, the preliminary project for the renovation and new concession of the vehicle parking in said square. The intention is to submit it to public information for one month, as a preliminary phase to the call for the exploitation and construction tender.
This action seeks to improve both spaces, after the public exhibition process of the economic-financial study of the future concession has closed without any allegations being registered. The renewal of the car park concession includes an exploitation period of 15 years in exchange for a fee of 8.5 million euros and the development of reconfiguration works both in the car park building and on the surface level of the square.
The car park, which reverts to the City Council at the end of the current concession, is in good condition, but requires intervention for the renovation of pavements, waterproofing, lighting, accessibility, and complementary facilities. This car park, located in the urban center, records around 30,000 vehicle entries per month.
The agreement submitted for approval by the Governing Board this Tuesday confirms the economic-financial viability study approved on March 1, after the 30-day public exhibition period ended. Now, prior to the tender, the preliminary project is being publicly exhibited. Once this process is completed, the new car park concession, including the improvement work, will be put out to public tender.
