The Brasad'or restaurant has been awarded first prize for the best croquette in Alicante at the second edition of the 'Alacroqueta' championship, held in Plaza de Séneca, with over 150,000 croquettes sold.

Brasad'or's winning proposal was its 'Cured beef croquette', chosen by popular vote. Second place went to Cheos with the 'Teriyaki chicken croquette', and La Favorita secured third prize with its 'Carbonara croquette'.

"Citizens found it very difficult to choose the three best proposals because all of them deserved to win. These festivals are an attraction and revalue our restaurants and their cuisine both nationally and internationally."

the Councillor for Hospitality
The Councillor for Hospitality congratulated the winners, highlighting the excellence and quality of the fourteen proposals presented. She also emphasized the diversity and innovation of the chefs' talent, who once again showcase local gastronomy as a hallmark of identity at this festival.
The festival, which in its second edition was extended to five days, featured the participation of fourteen establishments offering their creations in packs of three croquettes. The event included live music, DJs, activities, and dessert stalls, such as cheesecakes from Gozo and ice creams from Borgonesse.
Thousands of people participated in the voting, evaluating the presentation, texture, and flavor of the croquettes. In the previous edition, the award for the best croquette went to Cheos, with its 'Truffled ham croquette'. The festival closes its doors with a very positive balance and is already preparing for a third edition.
