The Educational Consumer Resources Center (CERCA) of the Alicante City Council has launched its new program of training and leisure activities for the months of April to June, with over 500 free places available to citizens.

The Councillor for Consumer Affairs has encouraged residents to consult this edition's offerings, which include a wide variety of topics. Among them, courses on anti-inflammatory nutrition, healthy diet planning, artificial intelligence usage, health, recycling, and responsible consumption stand out. The program also features showcookings and guided visits to places like the Fire Station, the Central Market, and various restaurants.
These courses, organized by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Commerce, Hospitality, and Markets, aim to entertain and educate users. The main objective is for them to acquire knowledge about consumer rights, health, responsible, healthy, and sustainable consumption, cooking, safety, and new technologies, helping to bridge the digital divide among citizens.
The first course begins next Thursday, April 23, and for the first time, a workshop dedicated to recycling called Ecobingo will be taught. This activity invites reflection on the management of packaging waste in the local environment, fosters critical thinking, and seeks collective solutions for citizen involvement.

"The CERCA program always receives a great public reception; we promote it so that people can learn easily and at the same time enjoy their free and leisure time with courses, excursions, and activities."

During this quarter, three nutrition workshops have also been scheduled. The first will address false food myths, the second will focus on anti-inflammatory nutrition to reduce joint pain and improve digestion, and the third will teach how to plan a healthy diet, including tastings and advice on food supplements.
Additionally, courses are offered on artificial intelligence, how to interact with the Administration through online procedures, online shopping, finance, healthy consumption, climate change, mobile device handling, informed travel, safety tips, and sports, with stretching exercises, Pilates, or yoga.
Among the novelties of this program are guided visits to the Central Market, Mercalicante, and the SPEIS Fire Station. Visits to restaurants such as Alasazón and Majao are also included, in collaboration with the Alicante Restaurants Association, and a showcooking by the Distópico restaurant, which will prepare its star dishes.
All activities are free. The registration period began on April 15 and can be done both online and in person at the ground floor of the Central Market, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
