The Alicante-based association Mi Pequeño Ángel Alado is organizing the I Family Solidarity Meeting in Plaza Séneca, Alicante, on Sunday, April 26, to raise awareness of gestational, neonatal, and perinatal grief and collect funds for cold cots.

The event, scheduled from 10:00 to 14:00, is themed “They have wings, we have strength.” According to the organization, this meeting aims to shed light on a reality that remains socially under-recognized: the death of a baby during pregnancy, childbirth, or in the first days of life.
The association has designed this initiative as a family-friendly, close, and respectful space, combining solidarity activities with moments of gathering and awareness. Throughout the morning, there will be solidarity stalls, children's activities, workshops, music, and various emotional support spaces for families.

"These devices allow families more time with their babies after their passing, fostering a more humane, respected, and professionally supported farewell."

The solidarity goal of the meeting is to raise funds to acquire cold cots for distribution in hospitals across the province of Alicante. Mi Pequeño Ángel Alado emphasizes that opening dialogue spaces about this reality is necessary to break silences and stigmas surrounding perinatal grief. The entity maintains that making this situation visible also helps to better support families experiencing such a loss.
The association, formed by families who have gone through this experience, provides emotional support and promotes initiatives aimed at improving healthcare in these cases. Their work is coordinated with professionals and hospitals to foster a more sensitive response tailored to the real needs of each family.
