Rain continues in Castellón: forecasts for the coming days

The province of Castellón faces a period of meteorological instability with widespread rainfall over the next three days.

The province of Castellón is facing a period of meteorological instability with widespread rainfall over the next three days, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

After a period of clear skies, the arrival of a humid air mass will bring rain to a large part of the territory, affecting both the coast and the inland mountain areas. The regions of Els Ports and Alt Maestrat will be the most affected, with probabilities of rain reaching 100% in towns such as Morella, Cinctorres, Castellfort, Atzeneta del Maestrat, Vistabella, Benassal, and Vilafranca del Cid.
For Tuesday, May 12, between 12:00h and 18:00h, the probability of rain on the coast, in towns like Benicàssim, Torreblanca, and Peñíscola, ranges between 85% and 100%. In Castelló de la Plana, the probability stands at 40%. In the Alto Palancia region, the episode will be minor, with a 20% risk in Segorbe, while in Alto Mijares, towns like Montanejos and Zucaina will have an 80% probability.
On Wednesday, May 13, the situation changes. In Alto Palancia, the risk of precipitation will drastically increase to 90% in Segorbe. In Alto Mijares, Montanejos and Zucaina will have probabilities between 90% and 95%. On the coast, Castelló de la Plana will see the probability rise to 80%, and in Benicàssim (85%) and Torreblanca (80%) it will remain high. However, on the northern coast, the probability will begin to decrease, with 65% in Peñíscola and 55% in Vinaròs. In Els Ports, the situation will offer a respite, with 75% in Morella and 30-45% in the northernmost municipalities.
On Thursday, May 14, instability persists. In Alto Palancia, the probability of rain will remain high, at 80% in Segorbe. In Alto Mijares, Montanejos and Onda will present probabilities ranging between 70% and 80%. On the coast, probabilities stabilize at moderately high values: Castelló de la Plana (75%), Benicàssim (70%), and Torreblanca (70%). On the northern coast, the probability will slightly decrease, with 60% in Peñíscola and 55% in Vinaròs. In Alt Maestrat, towns like Vilafranca del Cid maintain an 85% probability, while in Alcora it drops to 80%. In Els Ports, the probability of rain will decrease, with 55% in Morella and 35% in the northernmost towns of the province.
After these days of instability, an improvement in the weather is expected over the weekend, with little widespread precipitation throughout the province of Castellón.
