More than 3,000 Elda citizens took to the streets to celebrate the Deportivo's promotion to Second Division, a historic achievement for the club that culminated in a large party at the City Hall square.

The city of Elda turned blue and burgundy this Tuesday to celebrate the promotion of its team, Deportivo, to Second Division. An unprecedented achievement in recent times for the club, allowing it to compete in professional football for three of the last four seasons. The celebration began with a massive parade that toured the city and concluded with a reception at the City Hall.
Nearly 3,000 fans gathered to celebrate the title of Group 2 of the Primera Federación. The party, which had been planned for the previous Sunday but was postponed due to a downpour, took place on a pleasant afternoon.
The parade kicked off at 7 PM from the vicinity of the Nuevo Pepico Amat stadium. Players, coaching staff, and employees boarded an open-top bus to tour half the town for over an hour. Gran Avenida was one of the key spots where fans gathered to congratulate the protagonists of the promotion.
Around 8:30 PM, the blue and burgundy expedition arrived at the Teatro Castelar. From there, they walked the last few meters to Elda's City Hall square, amidst chants of encouragement for the team.
At the municipal building, the city's mayor, Rubén Alfaro, along with his government team, awaited the club. The president of Deportivo, Carolina Holguín, signed Elda's Book of Honor, succeeding Pascual Pérez, president until October 2025 and architect of the previous promotion to Second Division in 2023.
From the City Hall balconies, the squad and coaching staff addressed the packed square of fans. The announcer introduced each player one by one, who dedicated a few words to the fans for the year they had experienced.

"Last July 25th, I made one of the most difficult decisions of my career. Ten months later, I can say that Elda is home for me."

Fidel Chaves · Veteran player

"Keep pushing next year at the Pepico. You are the lungs of this team."

Claudio Barragán · Coach

"I already knew what kind of city we are, but I can reaffirm that Elda is wonderful. Being able to have been part of this promotion with my family and my people has been something wonderful."
