One year after their relegation, the blue and red club achieves a return to LaLiga, the second division of Spanish football. This will be the club's third participation in the third tier of Spanish football in the last four seasons, since its foundation as a Primera Federación club.
Participation in LaLiga implies a different economic reality than that of Primera Federación. To close the 2024/25 financial year in the black and avoid penalties upon their return to the elite, the club relied on the help of relegation and a sponsorship agreement with the Elda City Council. These measures have been key to managing losses and being able to face the new season without problems with the league's governing body.
The club now awaits confirmation of the budget available for the next season, which will depend on income from 'ticketing', marketing, and player sales. The main revenue, as with other LaLiga clubs, will come from the audiovisual rights cession. In the 2023/24 season, this income was around seven million euros, with a Sports Squad Cost Limit (LCPD) of 5.5 million, which grew to six million for the winter transfer window of 2024/25. The LCPD for 2026/27 is expected to be closer to that of three seasons ago.
Unlike the more lenient economic control in Primera Federación, LaLiga imposes stricter limits. CD Eldense will move from having significant spending freedom on its squad to having to adhere to a limit, despite its income being significantly higher, particularly from audiovisual rights cession.
