The PSPV-PSOE of La Muntanya has reported on the funds that local entities will receive through the State Tributary Participation scheme, a measure intended to provide municipalities with greater financial capacity to cover daily services. In total, the 31 municipalities in the region will receive €49,835,708.39 in advance payments for the 2026 fiscal year.
These funds will be primarily distributed among municipalities with the largest population, economic, and industrial weight. Alcoy will receive €24,241,338.50, nearly half of the regional total. It is followed by Ibi (€7,861,845.57), Cocentaina (€3,760,431.65), Castalla (€3,505,359.51), Muro (€3,031,601.70), Onil (€2,666,183.07), and Banyeres de Mariola (€2,505,638.14). Collectively, these seven municipalities will account for 95.5% of the total allocated to the region.
The update to the advance payments also benefits smaller municipalities, where these resources are particularly relevant for guaranteeing basic services and maintaining public spaces. Localities such as Beniarrés, Benilloba, Planes, l'Alqueria d'Asnar, Gaianes, l'Orxa, Agres, Benimarfull, or Alfafara will each receive over €100,000.
Ismael Vidal, regional secretary of the PSPV of La Muntanya and mayor of Fageca, highlighted that "these figures demonstrate that funding from the Government of Spain reaches all town halls in L'Alcoià and El Comtat directly." He emphasized that "municipalities are the administration closest to the citizens and need sufficient funding to respond effectively." According to Vidal, this update guarantees better budget planning, reinforcement of essential services, and maintenance of investment activity.
The PSPV of La Muntanya has emphasized that this funding "is not an abstract figure, but money that directly reaches all the towns in L'Alcoià and El Comtat." They concluded that "in the face of political noise, the data is clear: the Government of Spain is increasing resources for municipalities and guaranteeing funding so that town halls can continue providing public services, undertaking investments, and improving citizens' quality of life."
