This work will allow for the collection of information on the number of existing homes, those that are empty, and new residential modalities that have emerged, such as commercial premises converted into housing. Available urban plots will also be analyzed, which will facilitate the planning of future rehabilitation and new construction strategies, both in the public and private spheres.
The contract cost for drafting this study is 14,500 euros and it is expected to be completed within four months. The information obtained will be fundamental for the development of the General Plan, both in its Structural part, which is already underway, and in the future Detailed Plan, which will specify the actions to be carried out. This will allow for the establishment of residential actions in the short, medium, and long term.
The new Structural General Plan advocates for a compact city model, ruling out new urbanizations and focusing on the already consolidated urban core. Although there are already areas with planned residential development, such as the old Colonia de Aviación, the study will provide detailed knowledge of the plots in the different neighborhoods of the city. This will facilitate the determination of residential growth for new construction, as well as housing rehabilitation actions, an area in which Alcoy stood out in the province last year.
