The Alcoy City Council has launched the tender for improving accessibility on País Valencià Avenue, with a budget of 130,390.80 euros and an execution period of four months.

This project, which aims to adapt all intersections on the avenue, includes lowering sidewalks at pedestrian crossings, eliminating unevenness, and installing tactile paving for warning and guidance for visually impaired people. Additionally, horizontal signage will be improved with non-slip and high-visibility materials, creating safer routes for all pedestrians.
The intervention will also extend to Rigoberto Albors street, which will be adapted to be fully accessible. The deadline for interested companies to submit their bids is April 29 at 12:00 PM.

"Intervening in accessibility is essential to guarantee real equality and autonomous mobility for all people."

Jordi Martínez · Councillor for Mobility
This action responds to a clear social demand, agreed upon in meetings between the municipal government, neighborhood associations, and the Avanzar entity, which represents people with reduced mobility. The Councillor for Mobility, Jordi Martínez, highlighted that País Valencià Avenue is one of the city's busiest areas.
Alcoy has an Accessibility Plan that is defined through participatory processes, with the aim of building a city that considers people, with technical rigor and social dialogue.
