The Alcoy City Council is launching a new edition of the 'Tapa i Festa' fair in La Glorieta park, aiming to expand the gastronomic and leisure offerings during the upcoming Moors and Christians Festivities.

The fair will open on April 23 at 5:00 PM and will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM until April 27. It will feature 21 food trucks offering a wide variety of food, including gluten-free and vegetarian options, such as Asturian cachopo, burgers, crepes, waffles, pizzas, wok, Japanese food, and Argentinian empanadas. Additionally, there will be two beverage bars with promotions and discounts during specific hours.
One of this year's novelties is the implementation of a cashless payment system using rechargeable balance cards. These cards will be available at a fair booth, where users can manage recharges, accumulate prizes and incentives, and make payments. A one-euro deposit will be required for the card, which will be refunded along with any remaining balance at the end of the fair. Users can also pay directly with their bank card.

"This initiative highlights these spaces as a dynamic element of the city during our festivities. Furthermore, it is important to note that the novelties at the 'Tapa i Festa' fair are undoubtedly a commitment to sustainability and to increasing leisure options."

Improvements have also been introduced in waste management with a system of reusable cups with incentivized returns. Users will pay one euro for the purchase of the cup and can return it at a designated stand to receive a reward, such as a free drink or participation in raffles, for every ten cups deposited. This system aims to promote responsible plastic use and encourage recycling.
The fair will also feature live musical performances by local groups. On Entrada Day (April 25), from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM, Germans Brothers will perform, and on Sant Jordi Day (April 26), from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, the group Eñe will take the stage. The City Council will also provide other leisure and food areas at different points in the city, including a market with 100 stalls on Els Alçamora street and a food truck area on Nofre Jordà alley, in addition to four food stalls in Plaça Emili Sala.
