The Torrent City Council has formalized the acquisition of an extensive rural plot of over 58 hectares in the Poniente area, within the Serra Perenxisa, to settle outstanding tax debts.

This acquisition comes after the public auction process, initiated as part of a debt enforcement procedure, concluded without any offers. The property, located in the area known as Cuesta del Atochar, consists of mountain land with low scrub vegetation and pastures.
The procedure dates back to 2007, when an embargo was placed on the property to guarantee the collection of various tax obligations. Over the years, the file has incorporated different administrative actions, including successive embargo annotations.
Following the property's valuation, carried out on November 20, 2025, by a judicial expert who set its value at 272,700 euros, the City Council agreed to its sale through public auction. The auction was held on the Portal de Subastas between March 5 and 25, 2026, but concluded without any bids, leading to the process being declared void on April 2, 2026.

"This acquisition allows the municipality to recover a mountain area that will now be public. It is an opportunity to strengthen the public land heritage and advance towards more ordered territorial management."

Given the lack of offers and considering that the debtor company did not have sufficient assets, the City Council opted for the direct acquisition of the property. The property is incorporated into the municipal heritage in payment of the outstanding debt, which amounted to 163,449.66 euros, thus extinguishing the entire obligation.
The Treasury report highlights the potential interest of the plot for the municipality, both due to its location and its proximity to already municipally owned land. The property borders to the east with land from the former Cámara Agraria, facilitating its integration into public heritage and its use in territorial management policies. This action expands Torrent's rural land heritage in an area of special territorial relevance.
