The investigation began following a report received through the AlertCops application, which stated that a person was being held in a chalet in the town, looking after a marijuana plantation. The complainant also claimed to be coerced with threats of harm to their family by their employers, and therefore sought assistance from the Civil Guard.
The officers went to the residence that same day but were unable to contact the person requesting help. Furthermore, there was no electricity or signs that the house was inhabited. After numerous attempts, the following day the officers finally managed to access the property.
Inside, they found 263 plants in flowering state and 400 cultivated cuttings. Several bags of chopped marijuana and dried buds, prepared for distribution, were also confiscated. In total, 279.5 kilograms of marijuana were seized.
