The municipalities of Loriguilla and Riba-roja de Túria will formalize an agreement to connect their water supply networks, a measure accelerated after a breakdown left part of Loriguilla without service.

The decision comes after a breakdown in a compressor and well valves left part of Loriguilla without water for several hours this Friday. The incident highlighted the need for an alternative solution to guarantee supply.

"Opening the tap and not getting a single drop generates helplessness. Today I experienced it firsthand too."

The municipal leader acknowledged the inconvenience caused to residents and apologized for the difficulty in communicating the incident more quickly, partly due to it being a holiday. She explained that they had been in contact with the company to monitor the repair, although she admitted that “it's not always possible to cover everything” in unforeseen situations.

"The agreement with Riba-roja is already closed and scheduled for signing this very month of May."

The Riba-roja network that supplies the Reva area is very close to Loriguilla's infrastructure, making a “logical and necessary” interconnection viable. This action would allow an alternative supply to be activated immediately in case of local system failure, as occurred this Friday.
The government team considers this agreement a key step to strengthen the municipality's water security and prevent future water cuts. The objective is to anticipate problems and not just react to them, seeking a more resilient system capable of responding to technical incidents and extraordinary situations.
