The driver of the former president of the Generalitat Valenciana has confirmed in a parliamentary commission that he picked up the former head of the Consell around eight in the evening during the DANA, contradicting initial official versions.

Ernesto Serra, who was the driver for the former president of the Generalitat on October 29, 2024, testified before the Congress commission investigating the political management of the DANA. The official responded to the Compromís-Sumar deputy, Alberto Ibáñez, that he picked him up "around eight" to go to the Cecopi in L'Eliana.
The driver refused to answer most parliamentary questions, referring to his statement before the investigating court of Catarroja. He indicated that he had already fulfilled his obligation in the criminal case and referred to those statements. The public employee denied having received pressure not to testify.
The driver's version, which he already provided in his statement in Catarroja, is further testimony that emphasizes that the former president and his team lied for months about his whereabouts while the Cecopi was being convened and developed. The former president's entourage changed their testimony multiple times, from having "a snack" to performing presidential duties in L'Eliana at 8:28 PM.
The driver's version is also corroborated by the testimonies of the bodyguards who were on duty on October 29 and a report from the Generalitat Valenciana, which confirms that the driver received the order at 7:47 PM to take the former president to the Cecopi in L'Eliana. The former president's press chief also admitted to the DANA judge that the Generalitat provided false versions to the media, although she stated that it was "never with the intention of deceiving."
This Monday, the High Court of Justice of the Generalitat Valenciana has confirmed its decision not to investigate the former president in this case. The magistrates reiterate that the former head of the Consell did not have a guarantor position because the legislation did not specifically attribute a legal duty of action to him.
