From April 15 until May 31, any person over 16 years old registered in Sagunto, as well as associations registered in the municipality, can submit up to three proposals through the municipal platform participa.sagunto.es. This initiative, promoted by the Department of Citizen Participation, seeks to involve the population actively in decisions about the city's future.
“"A key tool to continue building the city through the direct involvement of our neighbors. This process allows citizens to participate in decisions that affect the model of the city where we want to live."
The Mayor of Sagunto, Darío Moreno, and Councillor María Rubio, have presented this new call, emphasizing the importance of advancing towards more open management models. The allocated amount, half a million euros, will be exclusively for durable investments, such as improvements in public spaces, equipment, or municipal infrastructure.
Proposals must be within municipal competence, executable in 2027, technically and legally viable, and respect economic and environmental sustainability criteria. Furthermore, each proposal cannot exceed 125,000 euros to encourage several initiatives to move forward.
Once the submission period ends, municipal staff will study each proposal between June 10 and September 10. Then, from September 15 to 30, residents over 16 years old registered in the municipality can vote on the finalist proposals through the same digital platform. Each participant can support as many proposals as desired until the available budget is exhausted.
