The Department of Physical Activity, Health and Sports in Sagunt has launched two calls for subsidy applications designed to strengthen the local sports fabric and facilitate access to sports practice from an early age. These grants, which will be awarded on a competitive basis, are now available, and the deadline for applications is May 25.
“"These calls have been substantially increased, not only due to the desire to increase aid to our sports clubs, but also to adapt them to the new regulations in force."
The area's councillor, Javier Timón, highlighted the budgetary effort made, trusting that this investment will facilitate the adaptation of sports entities to new legal requirements. The full terms and conditions and the agreement of the Local Government Board can be consulted on the municipal website.
The Sports Promotion program for 2026 will have an allocation of 300,000 euros, representing a 25.1% increase compared to the previous year. This support line is aimed at both sports entities and individual athletes, including aid for participation in federated competitions, the organization of events, training activities, and integration projects through sports.
Furthermore, the School-Age Sports Promotion program for the 2026-2027 academic year will receive an investment of 475,823 euros, a 29.9% increase from 2025. This initiative's main objective is to promote sports practice among young people and ensure the operation of municipal schools. The aid will primarily fund sports school monitors and can be applied for by publicly funded educational centers, parent-teacher associations (AMPA), and legally constituted sports entities.
The city council encourages clubs, educational centers, and entities to participate in these calls, which close on May 25, to consolidate sports as a fundamental pillar in the social and educational life of Sagunt.
