The Valencian Promotion Office of the Sagunt City Council is launching the 'Gent de trellat' talk series, a monthly forum for collective reflection on the current Valencian language and culture.

The new series, which begins on April 16, aims to create vibrant spaces for debate and learning. The first talk-discussion, titled El valencià a xarxes: llengua global (Valencian on networks: global language), will be led by professor and content creator Esteve Latorre (@el_xitxo_del_cabanyal) at the Casal Jove de Sagunt at 7 PM.
Esteve Latorre, winner of the best creator of the year award at the second gala of Podcast and Content Creation in Valencian in 2025, has over 26,000 followers on Instagram for his linguistic dissemination videos. His participation opens this series which, on a monthly basis, will bring important figures to Sagunt to shed light on the status and projection of the language and other aspects of Valencian culture.

"This cycle is born with the will to generate lively spaces for reflection, where language and our culture are protagonists and also a meeting point between different generations and sensibilities."

Patricia Sánchez · Councillor for the Valencian Promotion Office
For upcoming sessions, philosopher and writer Xavier Serra and academic and university professor Carme Manuel have already confirmed their attendance. 'Gent de trellat' aspires to be a forum for constructive debate in service of the self-recognition and self-esteem of the Valencian people.
Councillor Patricia Sánchez emphasizes the importance of Valencian being “lived, heard, and shared in all areas, including those that connect with current reality, such as social networks or digital content creation.” She adds that bringing influential voices to Sagunt is “a way to recognize the talent we have and, at the same time, project an open and ambitious vision for the future of our language.”
