Parc Sagunt II urbanization works extended until December

The project, which has already undergone three modifications, has seen its budget increased by an additional 13.4 million euros.

The urbanization works for Parc Sagunt II, surrounding the PowerCo gigafactory, will face a significant delay, with completion now expected by December 2026, and an additional cost of 13.4 million euros.

Initially, the tender process launched in December 2025 set the completion of the works for August 2026. However, the tender documents from April 2026 already include an extension until December of the same year.
The delay could be longer for the provision of some services, as Espais Econòmics Empresarials (EEE) has indicated that there are necessary works whose execution does not directly depend on this entity and could have different timelines. These infrastructures include the Saguntum and Palancia electrical substations, managed by Red Eléctrica (REE) and Iberdrola, as well as the new wastewater treatment plant, developed by the Generalitat.
The urbanization works, awarded for nearly 237 million euros in the summer of 2023 with an initial term of 36 months, have already been modified three times. The first, in late 2024, added 5.5 million euros and four more months to the structural road. The second, in July 2025, granted an additional five months to the responsible companies. The latest modification, in November 2025, increased the budget by 13.4 million euros, and a further extension of the deadline is expected in the coming weeks.
