The short film 'Exilios', produced by the Canet d'en Berenguer company Fresno Films, has received the EDAV Award for Best Screenplay at the 17th edition of Valencia's Humans Fest.

The audiovisual work, which addresses historical memory, was awarded this past Saturday at the closing ceremony of the 17th edition of the Valencia International Film and Human Rights Festival, Humans Fest, an event that qualifies for the Goya Awards.
Dani Reina, screenwriter and director of the short film, received the award from the Valencian Audiovisual Screenwriters Association (EDAV) for Best Valencian Short Film Screenplay. The jury, composed of Laura Grande, Iñaki Sánchez Arrieta, and Jordi Núñez, highlighted "its ability to weave an emotional and revealing narrative in which collective wounds intimately dialogue with those of its characters".
'Exilios', which premiered nationally within the festival, is a production by Fresno Films, a company based in Canet d'en Berenguer founded by Mónica Fernández Menéndez and María Jesús Fernández Menéndez. The film, starring Cristina Fernández-Pintado and Jordi Ballester, with the special collaboration of Isabel Requena, is supported by the Institut Valencià de Cultura, À Punt Mèdia, and CREA SGR. National and international distribution is handled by the Valencia Filmoteca's short film catalog, ‘Curts Comunitat Valenciana 2025’.
Through the emotional catharsis of a married couple, 'Exilios' confronts two different stances on how to face the wounds of the past and build a new future. The characters engage in a dialogue that, unknowingly, ends up reflecting on the historical memory of a country that seems unable to heal its scars.
The short film features music by Isabel Latorre and cinematography by Nacho Toledo. Art direction was led by Maje Tarazona, and the makeup and hair department was headed by Amparo Sánchez Gracia, a professional from Port de Sagunt and a Goya Award winner.
