This cultural event, scheduled for April 26 at 7:00 PM at Casa Gran, concludes a series of activities that have combined workshops, educational actions, and participatory initiatives throughout March and April.
The program aimed to promote gender equality and citizen involvement. The highest municipal representative of Faura highlighted that the goal was to make equality visible from different areas, culminating in an activity that recognizes the talent and contribution of women in music.
“"It has sought to make equality visible from different areas and culminates with an activity that recognizes the talent and contribution of women in music."
The concert, titled La Clarinette, offers a journey through 20th-century French music, with a special focus on female composers of that era. It highlights figures often underrepresented in traditional music programming circuits, featuring a repertoire that combines works of great stylistic richness with more contemporary pieces.
Notable composers include Claude Arrieu (1903-1990), one of the most significant figures in the French musical landscape of the 20th century, who helped pave the way in a traditionally male-dominated environment. The program also features works by Yvonne Desportes, a composer and pedagogue who played a crucial role in promoting music for wind instruments. This offers a diverse perspective on musical creation and the role of women in this field.
The Patraix Clarinet Quartet, a newly formed group from the Valencian neighborhood of Patraix, will perform the concert. The ensemble combines interpretive quality with an educational mission to bring less common repertoires to the public.
“"Initiatives like this allow us to continue betting on diverse and quality programming, which helps us reflect on the role of women in culture and advance towards a more egalitarian society."
