Following a public draw held at the Casa de Cultura, five girls aged between 8 and 12 have been chosen as candidates for Children's Queen. These join the young women and seniors vying for the reign in the events that will take place next September in honor of the Virgen de Loreto.
The presentation gala for the children's candidates took place last weekend, in an emotional atmosphere with the presence of family members. The event culminated with a performance of the musical Peter Pan, by the Inmaculada Jaén Dance School, which transported attendees to Neverland.
In mid-April, the Department of Festivities closed the previous processes to choose the aspirants for Senior Festival Queen and Senior Citizen Queen. These figures are key to the patron saint celebrations in September and will play a prominent role in the municipality's festive program.
For the Senior Queen, a jury selected five candidates after personal interviews with twelve young women. These five young women will now begin a preparation phase that will culminate in August, when it will be announced who will wear the crown of the 2026 patron saint festivities.
Regarding the Senior Citizen Queen, the draw held at the Baluarte del Duque determined the three aspirants. One of them will be proclaimed during the event scheduled for August 17 at the Auditorio El Palmeral, one of the most emblematic venues in the pre-festival program.
Both processes are now looking towards August, which will serve as a prelude to the patron saint festivities in September. The selection of candidates marks the emotional start of the festivities, activating a social mechanism that involves families, associations, and neighbors, and strengthening the local identity of Santa Pola.
