The measure, which will apply on Fridays, Saturdays, and eves of holidays, including the early mornings of these days, responds to the evolution of tourist activity in the town. According to the council, the high season is increasingly extending beyond the traditional months of July and August, therefore aiming to benefit both the hospitality sector and the municipality's tourist offerings.
The new closing hours affect different types of establishments. Cafés, concert cafés, pubs, and karaoke bars will be able to stay open until 05:00 AM. Restaurants, cafeterias, and cafés-bars will be authorized to close at 02:30 AM. Those located in the public maritime-terrestrial domain zone and the port area may extend their activity until 04:00 AM. Banquet halls will also have extended closing hours until 04:00 AM.
This adaptation to a broader tourist season is part of the regional regulation of hours for public shows, recreational activities, and public establishments during 2026. The goal is to align local economic activity with a tourist demand that, according to the City Council, is extending for more months each year.
