The Sierra de Crevillent, considered the green heart of Baix Vinalopó, could become a Natural Park thanks to a citizen proposal presented to the Ministry of Environment.

On February 11th, Juan de Dios Mas Robles, a forest management technician and author of the book «Los Animales de la Sierra de Crevillent», presented a proposal to Luis Gomis, Director General of Natural and Animal Environment, to declare the Sierra de Crevillent a Natural Park. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Environment in Valencia.
The main objective of this initiative is to elevate the environmental protection level of the mountain range, recognizing its numerous landscape, biodiversity, and historical values. Declaring it a Natural Park would allow for the coexistence of public enjoyment and ecosystem conservation.
The proponents of the proposal are calling for citizen collaboration. Through an online platform, anyone can sign the proposal to gather support and achieve the definitive protection of this natural space, ensuring a sustainable legacy for future generations.
