The Museum of Contemporary Art of Elche (MACE) is hosting from this May 15th the major retrospective Cristina Navarro Evolution and Synthesis: 1989-2026, which can be visited until September 27th.

The exhibition reviews over four decades of the Valencian artist's creative output and occupies the museum's Temporary Exhibition Hall. The Councilor for Culture, Irene Ruiz, highlighted it as a pleasure to present this exhibition that allows a journey through Navarro's life and work, an artist with an extraordinary international career and a very personal artistic language. Ruiz recalled that Navarro was the author of the poster for the Misteri d’Elx in 2024, a poster that already reflected her mastery of geometric elements and gold leaf.
The exhibition features a wide selection of works in which Cristina Navarro develops her own visual universe, based on symbols, scripts, and references to ancestral cultures. Through paintings, mobiles, and compositions with gold and silver leaf, the artist offers a contemplative experience inviting introspection.
A graduate in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Cristina Navarro has exhibited her work in galleries and cultural spaces in Spain, Italy, the United States, Belgium, Holland, and Switzerland, in addition to participating in international contemporary art fairs and projects.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be able to show this exhibition in a hall like this."
